Also ich bin nicht sehr religiös und nicht einmal Mitglied einer Kirche, aber die Frage nach dem Woher und Wohin bewegt mich natürlich auch – und mit zunehmendem Alter immer öfter. Und manchmal gehe ich auch auf den Friedhof, z.B. in Mamiña in Chile oder hier in Pascamayo im Norden von Peru:

Eine Zeitlang dachte ich, ich könnte mir selbst eine Antwort auf diese ewigen Fragen der Menschheit geben und las dicke Bücher über die neuesten Erkenntnisse der Kosmologie. Abgesehen davon, dass ich das meiste, was da gesagt wird, nicht wirklich verstanden habe, haben mir Relativitätstheorie und Gravitationswellen auf meiner Sinnsuche auch nicht wirklich weitergeholfen. Auch die Gespräche mit Freunden und Bekannten und natürlich mit Clemencia haben mehr Fragen aufgeworfen als beantwortet.

Ein guter Freund von mir, der „mit beiden Beinen“ voll im Leben steht, an einer Universität in de USA unterrichtet und sehr erfolgreich als Steuerberater arbeitet, ist z.B. fundamentaler Christ und legt die Bibel wörtlich aus. Demnach hat Gott die Welt so wie sie heute ist vor ein paar tausend Jahren erschaffen und die Evolution hat es nie gegeben. Selbst die Tatsache, dass es Adam und Eva – die mutmaßlich Weiße waren – nach seiner Auffassung gegeben hat und dass es – wie auch er unumwunden zugibt – auf diesem Globus jede Menge Menschen unterschiedlicher Hautfarben gibt, kann er mit Bibelzitaten erklären und kommt – wie selbstverständlich – auch ohne die Evolution zu einem bunten Weltbild.

Also gut, sein Glauben mag ihm heilig sein. Ich mag ihn trotzdem sehr, aber an ihn musste ich sofort denken, als ich in Pascamayo auf dem Friedhof unterwegs war. Dort gibt es eine Mauer – wie sie die meisten Friedhöfe auf dieser Welt umgibt – und darauf haben Künstler das Leben und Leiden Christi dargestellt:

Nichts Ungewöhnliches für einen christlichen Friedhof. Aber dann gibt es dort auch eine Darstellung der Schöpfungsgeschichte. Und die ist so schlicht und einfach, dass ich sie auf diesem Wege auch meinem guten Freund in den USA vermitteln möchte:

Gut möglich, dass der Liebe Gott einfach nur die Ursuppe angerührt und den Urknall ausgelöst hat. Daraus sind dann die Sterne entstanden und schließlich die Bausteine des Lebens. Danach hat der Große Meister nur noch zuschauen müssen und sich wahrscheinlich selbst gewundert, was aus seiner Schöpfung im Laufe der Zeit alles geworden ist.

P.S. Zu dumm nur, dass auch die Künstler in Pacasmayo vergessen haben, dass es auch Menschen gibt, die nicht weiß sind. Ist mir allerdings auch erst beim Bearbeiten des Videos aufgefallen!

La historia de la creación

Bueno, no soy muy religioso y ni siquiera soy miembro de una iglesia, pero la pregunta de donde venimos y a dónde vamos me mueve también naturalmente, y con la edad todavía más. A veces voy al cementerio, p.e. en Mamiña en Chile o acá en Pacasmayo en el norte de Peru:

Por un tiempo pensaba, que podría contestar estas preguntas eternas de la humanidad yo mismo leyendo gruesos libros sobre los últimos conocimientos de la cosmología. Aparte de no entender de verdad la mayor parte de las cosas, de las que hablan estos libros, ni la teoría de la relatividad ni el descubrimiento de las ondas gravitacionales me ayudaron en mi búsqueda de mi mismo. Inclusive las larga conversaciones con amigos y conocidos y naturalmente con Clemencia han producido más preguntas que respuestas.

Un muy buen amigo mío, que camina firme por la vida, da clases en una universidad y parece ser un asesor fiscal muy exitoso, es un cristiano renacido e interpreta la biblia en una forma literal. Según el, Dios ha creado el mundo como es hace unos miles de años y nunca hubo una evolución ( menos aún que los hombres pudieran ser descendientes de los antropoides).

Inclusive el hecho que hay obviamente hombres de muchos colores diferentes, aunque Adan y Eva fueron – probablemente – de raza blanca puede explicar con unas citas de la biblia y llegar así a una imagen vistosa del mundo existente sin cualquier tipo de evolución.

 Bueno, su fe le sea bendita!. A pesar de esa discrepancia somos muy buenos amigos. Pero hoy tuve que pensar cuando estaba caminando por el cementerio de Pascamayo. Alrededor de este cementerio hay un muro largo – como es costumbre en casi todos los países cristianos del mundo – y en este muro los artistas han representado la vida y los sufrimientos de Jesucristo.

Nada insólito para un cementerio cristiano. Pero en este mural también hay una representación de la historia de la creación, que es tan fácil y tan natural, que me gustaría mandársela a mi amigo en los EEUU a través de este video:

No podría ser, que Dios solamente desleyó la sopa primordial y activó el Big Bang. De esta materia las estrellas se formaron y finalmente los módulos de la vida. Después el gran maestro tuvo que mirar solamente qué pasó y probablemente se sorprendió muchas veces al ver el resultado de su creación.

P.S. Que estúpido, que inclusive los artistas en Pacasmayo han olvidado, que hay también hombres de diferentes colores. Algo, de lo que me di cuenta solamente cuando estaba editando el video.

The History of Creation

Well, I am not very religious and not even a member of any church, but the eternal questions of „Why“ and „Where“ do move me a lot, too – and with growing age even more. And sometimes I visit cemeteries like the one in Mamiña in Chile or here in Pacasmayo in the North of Peru:

For some time I thought, I could find an answer to the eternal questions of mankind all by myself and by reading voluminous books about cosmology. Apart from the fact that I did not really understand most of what was explained in these great books, neither the theory of relativity nor the discovery of gravitational waves have really helped me in my self-finding process. Also long conversations with friends and relatives and – of course – with Clemencia have thrown up more questions than answers.

A good friend of mine, who teaches at a University in the US and seems to be making good money as a CPA calls himself a reborn Christian and interprets the bible literally. According to his belief God has created the world as it is today about a couple of thousands of years ago and there has never been something like evolution (let alone that men descend from apes). Even the fact that Adam and Eve – who supposedly were white – and the fact that there are people of all shades of color in our world – which he fully acknowledges – can he easily explain with some quotations from the bible and thus accept the colorful picture of the world without any kind of evolution.

Well, his belief maybe holy to him. I love him anyway, he is a great guy, but I had to think of him immediately, when I was approaching the cemetery in Pacasmayo. It is surrounded by a long wall – like most Christian cemeteries in the world (except for the US) – and on this wall some artists have portrayed the life and sufferings of Jesus Christ:

Nothing unusual for a Christian cemetery. But then there is also a wall painting, which describes the biblical genesis. And this description is so simple and clear, that I want to convey its idea to my good friend in the US with this short video:

Maybe that God only prepared the primordial soup and ignited the big bang. Later the stars were born and finally the first pieces of life developed. Our „Big Master in Heaven“ only had to watch was going on and was probably surprised himself whenever he looked down on earth, how his own creation was developing during the eons of time.

P.S. It’s a pity that the artists in Pacasmayo obviously have forgotten, that there are not only white people living on this globe. But I did not realize this myself, before I had edited the video.
