Hinter dem schwierigen Namen verbirgt sich eine wunderschöne Felsformation ca. 40 km entfernt von der Hauptstrecke von Ulan Bator nach Dalangsadgad.

Noch am späten Nachmittag fahre ich mit dem reparierten Patriot zu einem verlassenen Kloster, das sich zwischen den Felsformationen verbirgt. Auf mich wirkt die einsam gelegene Ruine wie ein verwunschener Ort, an dem sich nachts die Geister der verstorbenen Mönche treffen:

Und tatsächlich: Obwohl die Ruine zwischen hohen Felsen lieg, weit ab von dem nächsten größeren Ort: Plötzlich klingelt mein Handy und meine Frau, Clemencia, ist am What’sApp Telefon. Wir können es beide kaum glauben, aber die Verbindung ist ausgezeichnet und wir reden lange miteinander, – nach über zwei Monaten der Trennung gibt es viel zu erzählen.

Am nächsten Morgen stehe ich früh auf und erkunde eine wenig die einsame Felsregion. Es ist eine beeindruckende, Ruhe ausstrahlende weite Landschaft, in der wir da unser Zelt aufgeschlagen haben:

Detrás del difícil nombre hay una hermosa formación rocosa a unos 40 km de la línea principal de Ulan Bator a Dalangsadgad.

A última hora de la tarde, conduzco con el Patriota reparado a un monasterio abandonado, que se esconde entre las formaciones rocosas. La ruina solitaria parece un lugar hechizado donde los espíritus de los monjes fallecidos se encuentran en la noche:

Y, de hecho, a pesar de que la ruina se encuentra entre rocas altas, lejos de cualquier lugar poblado: de repente mi teléfono celular suena y mi esposa, Clemencia, está en el teléfono de What’sApp. Ambos casi no podemos creerlo, pero la conexión es excelente y hablamos durante bastante tiempo, después de más de dos meses de separación, hay mucho que contar.

A la mañana siguiente, me levanto temprano y exploro el área rocosa solitaria por un tiempo. Es un paisaje impresionante, sereno y ancho en el que hemos armado nuestra carpa:

Behind the difficult name is a beautiful rock formation about 40 km away from the main road from Ulan Bator to Dalangsadgad.

In the late afternoon, I drive with the repaired Patriot to an abandoned monastery, which hides between the rock formations. The lonely ruin looks like a bewitched place where the spirits of the deceased monks meet at night:

And indeed, even though the ruin lies between high rocks, far from any village or twon: Suddenly my cellphone rings and my wife, Clemencia, is on the What’sApp phone. We both can hardly believe it, but the connection is excellent and we talk for quiet a long time, – after more than two months of separation, there is much to tell.

The next morning, I wake up early and explore the lonely rocky area for a while. It is an impressive, serene wide landscape in which we pitched our tent:
