Insgesamt haben wir vier Wochen in Los Angeles verbracht. Die meiste Zeit waren wir Gast von Pepe. Pepe ist der Bruder von Belita und Belita eine Freundin von Clemen aus revolutionären Zeiten in Lima, Peru:

„El pueblo unído jamás será vencido“

Das heißt in etwa:

„Das vereinte Volk wird nie besiegt werden.“

Also heute sind sie ja alle ziemlich bürgerlich geworden und Pepe als Vice President von Merryll Lynch gehört trotzdem zur Familie.

Clemen protestiert im Hintergrund, aber so ist das nun mal mit Politik und Sozialismus. Hier ein paar Bilder vom Wiedersehen in LA:

Clemen kommentiert: Das stimmt alles nicht. Die sozialistischen Werte gelten immer noch. Und gelegentlich singt sie mit Belita das Kampflied aus alten Zeiten – und ich stimme ein:

„El pueblo unido, jamás será vencido“.

Ein wunderbarer Text und eine noch bessere Melodie. Hier das Original aus dem Jahre 1974:

Pepe als erfolgreicher „Kapitalmanager“ sucht einen neuen Weg und stellt der „Raubtierkapitalimus“ der USA heute in Frage. Bernie Sanders hat auch schon eine Vorwahl gewonnen und wir irgendwo dazwischen. Es kann alles nur besser werden.

Wir haben uns bei Pepe und mit Belita und Arturo, ihrem Mann, sehr, sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir freuen uns schon jetzt darauf, sie wahrscheinlich in ein paar Monaten in Peru wieder zu treffen.

Danke Pepe für deine Gastfreundschaft, danke Belita und Arturo für Eure Freundschaft, danke Euch allen für Nähe, Herzlichkeit und die vielen Umarmungen unter der kalifornischen Sonne.

En total pasamos cuatro semanas en Los Angeles. La mayor parte del tiempo fuimos los huéspedes de Pepe. Pepe es el hermano de Belita y Belita una amiga de Clemen desde los tiempos revolucionarios en Lima, Perú:

„El pueblo unído jamás será vencido“

Hoy en día son todos somos más o menos burgueses de buena sepa y Pepe como Vice Presidente de Merryl Linch es también parte de esta familia .

Clemen protesta en el fondo. Pero así es en la política con las perspectivas diferentes. Aquí algunas fotos del reencuentro en in LA:

Clemen comenta. Todo esto no es cierto. Los valores socialistas son aún actuales. Y de tiempo en tiempo canta aún con Belita la canción protesta de lucha, que yo también entono „El pueblo unido, jamás será vencido“.

Pepe como un empresario del capital busca nuevos caminos y cuestiona el capitalismo de rapiña¨en U SA. Bernie Sanders acaba de ganar una pre elección y nosotros entre medio. Todo solamente puede ser mejor. ..

Nos sentimos con Pepe, Belita y Arturo, su compañero, muy muy bien. Nos alegramos desde ya de verlos nuevamente pronto en Perú. Gracias Pepe por tu hospitalidad, gracias Belita y Arturo por su amistad y gracias a todos por cercanìa cordialidad y todos los abrazos recibidos bajo el sol de California.

We spent almost  four weeks in Los Angeles. Most oft he time we were guests of Pepe. Pepe is Belita´s brother and Belita is Clemencia’s friend of revolutionary times in Lima, Peru.

„El pueblo unído jamás será vencido“

In English this would be:

„The united people will never be defeated.“

Today all of them behave rather civically and Pepe is part oft he family in spite of being one of Merryll Lynch’s Vice presidents.

Clemen is objecting in the background, but that is, what politics and socialism are about: different opinions. Here are a few shots of our encounter in LA:

Clemen’s comment on it: That is all wrong. The socialistic values are still valuable. And sometimes she sings the battle song of old times with Belita and Arturo – and I join in:

„El pueblo unido, jamás será vencido“.

Pepe, being a successful money manager is searching for a new way and has started questioning the „raptor capitalism“ of the US. Bernie Sanders has already won one of he primaries and we  are somewhere in between. Everything can only become better.

We were very, very happy  with Pepe and with Belita and Arturo, her husband. And we are looking forward to probably meeting them in a couple of months in Peru again.

Thank you Pepe for your hispitality, thank you Belita and Arturo for your friendship, thank you all for being so close to us, for your great cordiality and the many hugs under the Californian sun.
