Die beiden Nationalparks liegen westlich und östlich von Ulan Bator.

Zuerst besuchen wir den Hustain Huruu NP. Mit 50.000 Hektar ist er der kleinste Nationalpark in der Mongolei. Trotzdem ist er sehr sehenswert, denn hier lebt ein Teil der insgesamt knapp siebenhundert echten Wildpferde, die es in der Mongolei noch gibt.

Der Terelj NP im Osten von Ulan Bator ist vor allem wegen seiner landschaftlichen Schönheit und seiner Nähe zur Hauptstadt berühmt. Für die Einwohner von Ulan Bator ist dieser Nationalpark in den letzten zwanzig Jahren zu einem Naherholungsgebiet geworden, in dem es eine Unzahl von Ger-Camps und einige ausgezeichnete Hotels gibt. Zum Beispiel dieses hier, in dem wir zweimal sehr gut essen gehen:

Dass dies alles der Natur nicht allzu gut tut, liegt auf der Hand. Trotzdem lohnt sich ein Besuch. Imposant ist z.B. diese Felsformation, die an eine riesige Schildkröte erinnert:

Aber selbst in diesem touristisch weitgehend erschlossenen Gebiet, stößt man plötzlich auf unerwartete Hindernisse. Und hier fahren nur die ganz Mutigen durch:

Wir lassen das besser sein, schließlich müssen wir unseren Patriot übermorgen unversehrt in Ulan Bator zurückgeben.

Hustain Huruu y Ghorki Terelj

Los dos parques nacionales están ubicados al oeste y al este de Ulan Bator.

Primero visitamos el Parque Nacional de Hustain. Con 50,000 hectáreas, es el parque nacional más pequeño de Mongolia. Sin embargo, vale la pena verlo, porque aquí vive una parte del total de casi setecientos caballos salvajes reales que aún existen en Mongolia.

El Parque Nacional Terelj en el este de Ulan Bator es famoso por su belleza escénica y su proximidad a la capital. Para los residentes de Ulan Bator, este parque nacional se ha convertido en un área recreativa en los últimos veinte años, con una gran cantidad de campamentos de ger y algunos hoteles excelentes. Por ejemplo este, donde comemos dos veces muy bien:

Es obvio que este desarrollo turístico no es tan bueno para la naturaleza. Sin embargo, una visita vale la pena. Bastante impresionante es esta formación rocosa, que recuerda a una enorme tortuga:

Pero incluso en esta área desarrollada en gran medida por el turismo, de repente te encuentras con obstáculos inesperados. Y aquí solo pasan los muy valientes:

No nos atrevimos hacerlo, después de todo, pasado mañana tendremos que devolver nuestro Patriot intacto en Ulan Bator.

Hustain Huruu und Ghorki Terelj

The two national parks are located west and east of Ulan Bator.

First we visit the Hustain NP. With 50,000 hectares, it is the smallest national park in Mongolia. Nevertheless, it is very worth seeing, because here lives a considerable part of the total of nearly seven hundred of really wild horses that still exist in Mongolia:

The Terelj NP in the east of Ulan Bator is famous for its scenic beauty and proximity to the capital. For the residents of Ulan Bator, this national park has become a recreational area in the last twenty years, with a myriad of ger-camps and some excellent hotels. For example this one, where we ate twice very well:

It’s obvious that this touristic development is not all that good for nature. Nevertheless, a visit is worthwhile. Very impressive is this massive rock formation, which looks very much like a huge turtle:

But even in this touristically largely developed area, you suddenly come across unexpected obstacles. And here only the very brave ones go through:

We’ll do better, after all, the day after tomorrow we’ll have to return our patriot to Ulan Bator intact.
