Die Grenze zwischen Argentinien und Chile haben wir inzwischen neunmal in beiden Richtungen überquert. Heute müssen wir es wieder einmal hinter uns bringen. Seit zwei Tagen ist die Straße über den Pass schneefrei, und wir wollen Santiago de Chile möglichst noch bei Tageslicht erreichen.

Da die Einreise nach Chile meistens zeitaufwändiger ist als die nach Argentinien, stellen wir uns auf eine längere Wartezeit ein. Aber diesmal geht es zügig und wir können bald Richtung Santiago weiterfahren:

Mit so vielen Kurven hatten wir nicht gerechnet. Wir zählen alleine 28 Spitzkehren. Die Fahrt Richtung Santiago dauert stundenlang, und wir werden allmählich müde. Da es inzwischen auch schon dunkel geworden ist, beschließen wir bereits in Los Andes einen Standplatz zu suchen. Morgen wollen wir dann nach Santiago weiterfahren.

Atrás a Chile

Ya hemos cruzado la frontera entre Argentina y Chile nueve veces en ambas direcciones. Hoy tenemos que repetirlo una vez más. Desde hace dos días la carretera sobre el paso está libre de nieve y queremos llegar a Santiago cuando todavía hay luz de día y lo más rápido posible.

Desafortunadamente la entrada a Chile requiere más tiempo que a Argentina. Esperamos un largo tiempo. Pero esta vez todo va relativamente rápido y pronto podemos continuar nuestro viaje rumbo Santiago.

No habíamos contado con tantas curvas. El viaje hacia abajo se demora horas y poco a poco nos cansamos. Contamos 28 curvas cerradas solamente. Porque ya está oscureciendo decidimos de quedarnos en Los Andes esta noche. Mañana continuamos a Santiago.

Back to Chile

We have already crossed the border between Argentina and Chile nine times. Today we have to do it again. For two days the road has been cleared of snow and we want o reach Santiago de Chile by daylight

Unfortunately the immigration procedure into Chile usually requires more time than the entrance into Argentina. We are prepared for a long waiting time. But this time everything goes relatively smoothly and we can soon continue our trip o Santiago.

We have not expected so many curves. We count 28 switchbacks only. The trip down the pass takes hours and slowly but gradually we are getting tired. Since the sun is already setting we decide to stay in Los Andes overnight. Tomorrow we want to continue our trip to Santiago.
