ist ein Vorort von Lima, ca. 730 m hoch gelegen, im Tal des Río Rímac. Wer hier weiterfährt, kommt bald richtig in die Anden und zum Ticlio-Pass. Der ist knapp 5000 m hoch. Von dort geht es dann wieder ein Stück bergab bis nach Huancayo, unserem nächsten Ziel.

In Chaclacayo haben Jorge, einer der Brüder von Clemencia, und Iris, seine Frau, ein schönes Haus, das sie derzeit nur am Wochenende nutzen:

Wir konnten dort die erste Woche wohnen und das angenehme Sommerwetter knapp oberhalb des feucht kalten winterlichen Dauernebels von Lima (der sogenannten „neblina“) in vollen Zügen genießen.

 Am ersten Freitag und Samstag waren auch Carla und Cesar dabei. Gemeinsam mit Jorge und Iris waren wir auch auf dem Markt in Chiclayo und haben dort eingekauft:

 Der Aufenthalt in Chaclacayo hat uns gut getan. Wir merken, dass uns die Reise bis nach Lima doch ganz schön angestrengt hat und freuen uns mittlerweile, wenn wir etwas länger an einem schönen – und sicheren – Ort bleiben können.

Chaclacayo es un pueblo en las afueras de Lima, en una altitud de 730 metros en el valle del Rio Rímac. Si tu continuas en la carretera vas a llegar pronto a los valles de los Andes y después de algunas horas de serpentinas al paso de Ticlio, que tiene casi 5000 metros de altura. Desde allá tienes que bajar de nuevo un poquito hasta Huancayo, nuestro próximo destino.

En Chaclacayo Jorge, uno de los hermanos de Clemencia, e Iris, su esposa, tienen una casa muy linda, que solamente usan durante los fines de semana.

Nosotros pudimos quedarnos en esta casa durante nuestra primera semana cerca de Lima y disfrutar del clima agradable de primavera encima de la neblina fría y húmeda, que cubre la ciudad de Lima en esta época.

Durante el primer fin de semana Carla y Cesar nos visitaron en Chaclacayo. Juntos con Iris y Jorge fuimos de compras en el mercado munícipal.

La estadía en Chaclacayo fué un tiempo de recuperación para nosotros. Nos dimos cuenta, que el largo viaje hasta Lima nos a agotado. Hemos llegado a un momento en nuestro viaje, en lo que disfrutamos mucho tener la posibilidad de pasar más tiempo en lugares bonitos y seguros y en nuestra familia querida. .

Chaclacayo is a suburb of Lima, about 2,300 feet high in he valley oft he river Rimac. Those who continue driving up the road will soon get into the valleys oft he Andes and further up reach the Ticlio pass. This pass is almost 16,000 feet high. From there you descend again to Huncayo, which is our next destination.

In Chaclacayo Jorge, one of Clemencia´s brothers and Iris, his wife, have a wonderful summer house, which they presently only use during weekends.

We could spend the first week in Lima in Jorge´s house and enjoy the perfect mild spring weather above the cold and moist layer of smog and rain /called neblina), which hovers over the city of Lima during that time oft he year.

On the first weekend Carla and Cesar visited us in Chaclacayo. Together with Jorge and Iris we went shopping in the municipal market:

We really need this peaceful week in Chaclacayo. The trip to Lima has been quite exhausting and meanwhile we are glad, if we have the possibility to stay for some time in a beautiful and safe place.
