„Wo das Wasser kocht“, gibt es wunderschöne Sinterterrassen in einer majestätischen Landschaft. Ich vermute, dass der Ortsname „Hierve El Agua“ etwas mit der Form dieser Terrassen zu tun hat, die man als überkochende Wasserstellen betrachten kann.

Ob das so ist, weiß ich nicht, aber eigentlich ist das auch egal. ES ist auf alle Fälle ein Ort, der zum beschaulichen Betrachten anregt:

Auf dem Rückweg zur Hauptstraße machen wir dann noch Halt in einer „Fabrik“, in der „Mezcal“ hergestellt wird. Mit einer Flasche 52prozentigem Agavenschnaps fahren wir frohgemut weiter Richtung Süden:

Donde hierve el agua hay unas terrazas naturales de maravilla. Se encuentran en un paisaje majestuoso. Presumo que el nombre del sitio tiene que ver con la forma de estas terrazas de minerales, que tienen el aspecto de agua hirviendo con espuma saliendo de la fuente.

No sé, si es la verdad, pero no importa. De todas maneras es un sitio, que invita a quedarse contemplando la naturaleza.

En el camino hacia la carretera principal paramos en una fábrica de mezcal. Después de una hora más o menos salimos de buen humor y con una botella de Mezcal de 52 % hacia el Sur.

„Where the water is boiling“, there are some wonderful natural terraces in a majestic landscape. I assume that the name of this place has got to do with the special form of these terraces, which resemble boiling water which spills out of a huge pot.

I don´t know, whether this is true or not, but it does not matter. Anyway it is a place, which invites to stay for a while and contemplate nature.

On the way back to the main road we take a stop at a so called Mezcla Factory. After some time we leave it with a bottle of Mezcal with 52% happily heading south to new destinations.
