Ganz ohne Hollywood …

geht es nicht! Jedenfalls nicht bei mir.

Bei Disney World und Universal Studios, bei Epcot Center und Busch Gardens scheiden sich die Gemüter. Die einen halten es für puren Kitsch, für grenzenlosen Kommerz und (das oberflächliche) Amerika schlechthin, die anderen amüsieren sich köstlich, genießen den „thrill“ der wilden „rides“ oder die naive Freude an Mickey Mouse und seinen diversen Nachfahren.

Ich selbst gehöre eher zu den letzteren, obwohl mir die haarsträubend atemberaubenden Fahrten durch stockdunkle Pyramidenschächte, aus denen urplötzlich keuchende Mumien auftauchen oder wild gewordene Dinosaurier auf tropischen Inseln über die friedlichen Besucher herfallen, mit zunehmendem Alter Schwierigkeiten bereiten.

Schon nach der ersten Fahrt wollte ich eigentlich aufgeben und es eher ruhig angehen lassen. Aber dann habe ich all die begeisterten Jungen und Mädchen gesehen, die mit strahlenden Augen gerade dem Rachen eines Ungeheuers oder den Metallklauen eines Transformers entkommen waren, und ich dachte: „Alter, das schaffst Du auch!“.

Also, wer zur ersten Gruppe gehört, möge sich das Video nicht anschauen, wer zur zweiten Gruppe tendiert, sollte mal einen Blick hineinwerfen.

Obwohl es strikt verboten ist, auf den „rides“ zu filmen, konnte ich mir nicht verkneifen, wenigsten die Erlebnisse mit King Kong auf Video zu bannen. Und ich finde, es kommt ein bisschen von den Effekten rüber, die sich die Macher dieser abenteuerlichen Dschungeltour ausgedacht haben.

Nur noch zur Information: Während der Fahrt tragen die Besucher „natürlich“ 3-D-Brillen, das Fahrzeug, in dem alle sitzen, wird wild hin und her geschüttelt und gelegentlich bekommt man den feuchten oder heißen Atem der angreifenden Dinos auf der eigenen Haut zu spüren. Das Ganze nennt sich dann 4-D.

Mal sehen, wie viele „D“ es in zehn Jahren sein werden:

… tampoco va. En todo caso para mí.

Con el tema Disney World, Universal Studios y Epcot Center así como Busch Gardens las opiniones son muy diversas. Algunos lo consideran el puro kitsch, un comercio sin fronteras de la USA (superflua y fatua)… otros se la pasan divino, disfrutan el ! thrill! Y los viajecitos o la simple alegría de Mickey Mouse y sus descendientes.

Yo soy los del segundo grupo, a pesar que con los años los altibajos de estos juegos y viajes me quitan el aliento, me ponen los pelos de punta … de pronto experimentar pirámides tremendamente oscuras, desde donde aparecen momias o dinosaurios salvajes en islas tropicales amenazando a los pacíficos visitantes no es facilito.

Ya despuès del primer viaje quería retirarme y pasármela tranquilo. Pero cuando vi a la gente joven entusiasmadísimos de haberse escapado de la garganta de un mounstruo o de las garras de metal de un transformer, me dije: ¨A que yo también puedo!

Los que pertenecen al primer grupo, les recomendamos que no vean el vídeo … aquellos que tienden al segundo grupo, les recomiendo echar una mirada.

A pesar que está estrictamente prohibido filmar los ¨rides¨ no pude resistirme de captar por lo menos las experiencias de King Kong en mi cámara. Y considero que algo de los efectos que los productores de esta aventura en la selva idearon nos llegan.

Solamente como información: durante el viaje llevan los visitantes ¨naturalmente¨ anteojos 3-D, el carro donde todos están sentados se mueve de aquí para allá y en momentos se percibe la respiración húmeda y caliente del dinosaurio atacante en la misma piel. A eso se llama entonces 4-D.

A ver, cuantos ¨Ds¨ serán en diez años más.

Without Hollywood …

 it is only have the pleasure. At least for me.

If it is about Disney World and Universal Studios, about Epcot Center and Busch Gardens the opinions differ a lot. Some think these theme parks are pure kitsch, unlimited commerce and an epitome of (the superficial) America. Others just have fun, enjoy the thrill oft he wild rides or the naive pleasure to meet Mickey Mouse and his different descendants.

I myself belong to the latter group, even though the hair-raising and breath-taking rides through pitch-dark pyramid chambers, out of which all of a sudden panting Mummies jump on you or the wild dinosaurs, which try to devour peaceful visitors on tropical islands cause more and more problems to me with growing age.

After the first ride I was already at the point of giving up and wanted to take it easier. But then I saw all the young enthusiastic boys and girls, who had just escaped from the fierce fangs of a monster or the metal claws of a transformer with fin beaming glances, and I thought by myself: „Hey old man, you can do that, too.“

Well, those who belong tot he first group should not watch the following video, those, who tend to the other group, should have a look at it.

Though it is strictly forbidden to take photos on the rides, I could not refrain from shooting at least the adventures with King Kong and the dinosaurs. And I think one can catch a little bit of the special effects and the intentions of the filmmakers, who have created this adventurous trip through the jungle.

Just for information: During the ride all the passengers „naturally“ wear 3-D eyeglasses and the train, in which they sit wildly moves into all directions. Sometimes you even feel the wet or hot breath oft he attacking dino on your skin. That is called 4-D nowadays.

Let’s see how many „Ds“ it will be in about ten years.
